Short answer (4 November 2026): no agency is the best for every project. First pick the type of provider (custom development studio, web agency, software publisher), then compare two or three agencies on the same questions: work you can open, code ownership, hosting, maintenance, a detailed price. Among the Algerian agencies that publish enough information to be compared, we kept NEKST DIGITAL, then Codex, CODEV IT, Developatic, DGSoftware, Kynex, MGSD, Pentabin and Tinitec.

First, which type of provider?

TypeWhat it sellsFor whomWatch out for

If you are still torn between off-the-shelf and custom software, read our guide off-the-shelf or custom software first. For an ERP, see our ERP comparison for SMEs.

The agencies in brief

  • NEKST DIGITAL (Ouargla): see the box below.
  • Codex (Algiers): a studio established since 2014 according to its site, with a cybersecurity offer and a site in three languages. Published case studies include Prof Bilal, Ekrili and EnginsDZ. Our view: the most complete profile on paper for an Algiers company.
  • CODEV IT (Constantine): management software, SaaS and ERP. Our view: an option in the east, especially for a management tool.
  • Developatic (Algiers): native (Swift, Kotlin) or hybrid (React Native, Flutter) mobile apps and web apps (React, PHP, Node.js). Published work: SS-HUB for Samsung Algeria’s distribution network, and the Nayda rental app. Our view: worth considering for a consumer app.
  • DGSoftware (Tlemcen): a management software publisher that adapts its products and also builds apps and platforms. Our view: makes sense if you want to start from existing software.
  • Kynex (Algiers): projects built to a specification, consulting, data integration; technologies listed: Node.js, Express, Next.js, MongoDB, Talend, Power BI, Informatica. Kynex also publishes a ranking of Algerian companies with itself on top. Our view: relevant for a project that mixes development and data.
  • MGSD (Algiers): custom websites, software and apps, plus online marketing and graphic design; its site publishes named testimonials. Our view: useful to get the website, app and marketing in one place.
  • Pentabin (Oran): mobile, web, custom software, security audits; published products: DistriTour (distribution and GPS tracking of sales reps) and TourniPOS (mobile vendors). Our view: a serious lead for a field sales app.
  • Tinitec (Algiers): web, mobile, custom software, hosting and SEO, with published packages. Our view: useful to gauge entry prices, as long as you compare what is included.

What about IntelliX? It appears in some rankings as a web and mobile agency, but its site presents it as a management software publisher (Silwane ERP). Look at it if you want an ERP, not custom development.

Option: NEKST DIGITAL

NEKST DIGITAL is a development studio based in Ouargla that works remotely across the country. Its site presents custom software and SaaS, websites and web apps, mobile apps and online stores, with a proposal (scope, timeline, price) announced within two business days. Its clients, shown in its work, include SARL GMS (website and recruitment portal), Mediterranean Float Glass, BEP Groupe, Dorwa Prod and the WooCommerce store Rawr Sneakers; the studio also publishes dzcollab, a project management tool in Arabic, French and English.

The studio has operated since 2021, scales its team to each project, hosts its clients’ apps on VPS servers (deployment, backups and updates included), builds MVPs from 100,000 DA and also builds Shopify and WooCommerce stores. It highlights its knowledge of the Algerian market and rules. NEKST DIGITAL is not an Odoo partner.

In its favour: one point of contact for the code and the hosting, and a published entry price. What to check, as with the others: projects close to yours, a conversation with a client, and the contract. The studio publishes its own list of the best software development companies in Algeria, where it ranks itself first.

12 questions to ask an agency

Ask every agency the same questions and compare the written answers.

  1. Can you show me two live projects similar to mine, and put me in touch with a client?
  2. Who will work on my project, and who will be my contact during and after development?
  3. Who will own the source code, and will it be pushed as you go to a repository in my name?
  4. Will the domain, hosting and accounts (app stores, payment, email) be in my name?
  5. Where will the app be hosted, who pays for the server, in dinars or foreign currency, and who does the backups?
  6. How do you handle my customers’ personal data under law 18-07?
  7. Does the quote separate screens, integrations (payment, carriers, SMS), the mobile app, data migration and maintenance?
  8. How are scope changes handled, and at what price?
  9. Are payments tied to deliverables I can test?
  10. What does maintenance cover after launch, how much does it cost, and for how long?
  11. If the software touches the till or accounting, how do you plan for the 2027 requirements?
  12. What happens if we stop working together: which files, accesses and documents do you hand over?

Budget: what we know about prices

Few agencies publish prices. As of 4 November 2026:

  • NEKST DIGITAL: MVP from 100,000 DA.
  • Tinitec: basic mobile app from 90,000 DZD, according to its service page (to be checked).
  • Developatic: a post on its blog, published in 2022, puts a mobile app between 300,000 and 2,500,000 DZD, sometimes much more, with an average day rate of 15,000 to 50,000 DA in Algeria according to the author.
  • Codex: a range through its online quote tool.
  • The others: on quote.

An entry price does not tell you what is included. Compare quotes made on the same specification, with maintenance and hosting priced separately.

Clauses not to forget

Code ownership, accounts in your name, staged payments, maintenance and exit terms: we cover them in off-the-shelf or custom software. If your software handles the till or accounting, plan in the contract for the vendor commitment required from 1 January 2027.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best software development agency in Algeria?

None is the best for every project. Codex, Kynex, MGSD, Pentabin and NEKST DIGITAL are among the most cited agencies; choose by project, city and budget, then compare them with the 12 questions above.

How much does an app cost in Algeria?

The few published prices run from about 90,000 to 100,000 DA for a simple first product (Tinitec, NEKST DIGITAL) to several million dinars for a full app. Ask for at least three quotes on the same specification.

Do I need an agency in Algiers?

Not necessarily. Several agencies work remotely across the country: NEKST DIGITAL in Ouargla, Pentabin in Oran, CODEV IT in Constantine, DGSoftware in Tlemcen. Check instead how available your contact is and the support after launch.

How can I check that an agency is serious?

Open its work, call a client, check its trade register entry and address, and ask who will actually work on your project. Be wary of unnamed reviews and numbers you cannot check.

Who keeps the code after the project?

Whoever the contract names. Write that the source code, the domain and the accounts belong to you, and have the code pushed to a repository in your name at every stage.
