Choosing a COD carrier in Algeria: a comparison method (Yalidine, ZR Express, Maystro, Noest, Procolis)
No official, dated rate grid is public for every COD carrier. Here is what we read on official sites and a method to compare with your own parcels, with no copied prices.
In most seller groups the question is: “which carrier is cheapest?” The wrong answer is a table of rates copied from a blog. Prices per wilaya change, they depend on your volume, and some carriers do not publish them. This article gives the method to compare with your own parcels, and what the official sites really say.
What we read on official sites
Yalidine’s site announces coverage of 55 wilayas. That is lower than the current division of 69 wilayas: before comparing prices, ask for the list of wilayas served, especially those where you sell most. Our wilaya tool helps you spot the new ones.
Maystro Delivery presents two plans, Business and Premium. Per-wilaya rates are not displayed and are given on request. The page says returns are free provided the monthly return rate stays at 20% or less: this is a clause to read closely, because it changes the real cost of your refusals.
For ZR Express (Procolis) and Noest, we found no public grid on their sites. We therefore quote no tariff. Those circulating in groups, or on shops that resell a delivery service, carry no date and are not carrier documents.
Criteria to compare
For each carrier, ask in writing:
- The wilayas covered, and whether home delivery and pick-up point (stop desk) are available everywhere.
- The grid by wilaya and weight band, with its date.
- Return fees, and the conditions under which they are free.
- Fees for a failed delivery (customer absent, refusal).
- The commission on collecting the cash on delivery.
- How long it takes to remit the collected cash.
- Compensation for a lost or damaged parcel.
- Integration with your shop (API, plugin) and tracking.
A test with your own parcels
Send a batch of the same type of product, to the same wilayas, with each carrier, for example about thirty parcels per carrier. Note for each: the real lead time, the delivery rate, the return rate, the remittance time. A cheaper carrier with a higher return rate can cost you more per delivered parcel. The COD profit calculator does this calculation with your variables, and the article on the real cost of a delivered parcel details the formula.
Check before you sign
Read the contract or terms: return clause, compensation ceiling, claim deadline. Keep a written record of the grid you received and its date. Ask for it again every quarter. For the impact of these costs on your ads, see the Meta Ads guide.
