Auto-entrepreneur activity codes (ANAE): how to find yours in the official list
ANAE’s official list has eight domains and over a hundred sub-domains. How a code is read, the codes freelancers search for most, and where to check yours.
When you register as an auto-entrepreneur you must pick an activity from a closed list. The choice matters: it decides whether your trade falls within the status. This article explains how to read a code and where to find yours. The codes below were copied from ANAE’s official site on 29 October 2026; the list can change, so always check the site before registering.
Why the list decides
Law 22-23 reserves the status for activities on the list. Liberal functions, regulated professions and artisanal activities are excluded from it. If your trade is not there, the registration will not go through. That is also why there is no “selling products” activity: see selling physical goods.
How a code is read
An activity code has six digits. The first two give the domain, the next two the sub-domain, the last two the activity. Example: 021101 belongs to domain 02 (digital services), sub-domain 0211 (e-commerce services), and it is the activity “e-commerce marketer”.
The eight domains
| Domain | Official name | Sub-domains |
|---|---|---|
| 010000 | Consulting, expertise and training | 13 |
| 020000 | Digital services and related activities | 19 |
| 030000 | Services to individuals | 10 |
| 040000 | Home services | 3 |

| 060000 | Business services | 38 |
| 070000 | Cultural, communication and audiovisual services | 23 |

How to find yours
Pick the domain first, because you cannot mix several domains. Go to the official list site, search by domain, then open the sub-domain: each page shows the code, the title in French and Arabic, and the domain. Note the exact code, then compare with what you really do: if your trade sits between two titles, choose the one that describes the service you invoice. The site also offers a “Propose an activity” link if yours is missing.
What we could not confirm
Decree 23-197 says you register in a single domain and can then add other activities from the same domain; we found no text on the exact procedure to add or change a code. Title 020503, “online sales specialist”, suggests selling, but the list does not define it: do not take it as permission to resell goods. Put the question to ANAE in writing.
Once you have your code, follow the registration and ANAE card walkthrough, then the first steps after the card. The acronyms are in the glossary, and the general guide recalls the framework.
